Nauman Ali made the new world record and became the oldest spinner to take 5 wickets in his debut Test in 87 years. The left-arm spinner also became the oldest bowler to accomplish this feat in the last 72 years. National Team left-arm spinner Nauman Ali has become the oldest sniper to take five wickets in a Test debut and make a new world record in the last 87 years and the oldest bowler to do so in the last 72 years.

On the fourth day of the Karachi Test Noman Ali, at the age of 34 years and 111 days, took five wickets for 35 runs in South Africa’s second innings. He also became the oldest bowler which is also a new world record to take five wickets in his first Test of the year. Before Noman Ali, in 1949, New Zealand medium-pacer Fan Creswell, at the age of 34 years and 146 days, had taken 6 wickets for 168 runs against England at the Oval Cricket Ground.

Noman Ali became the 12th Pakistani bowler to take 5 wickets in his debut Test and also the fourth Pakistani spinner after Muhammad Nazir, Shahid Afridi, and Bilal Asif. It may be recalled that in the Karachi Test, the entire South African team returned to the pavilion after scoring 245 runs in the second innings and Pakistan got a target of 88 runs to win.

On the fourth day of the Test match being played at the National Stadium, Karachi, the visitors started their incomplete innings with 187 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Keshu Maharaj was bowled by Hassan Ali for 2 runs and captain De Kok’s innings was ended by Yasir Shah for 2 runs. Nortje was dismissed without scoring, with George Linde scoring 11 runs while Tamba Bauma’s resistance was crushed by 40 runs.

The national team was dominated by spinners in the second innings, Test debutant Noman Ali took 5 wickets and Yasir Shah took 4 wickets, Hassan Ali took 1 wicket. Earlier in the second innings, Dean Elgar was dismissed for 29 by Yasir Shah. Van der Dawson and Aiden Markram put on a vital 127-run stand as both batsmen completed their half-centuries, but Yasir Shah sent Dawson back to the pavilion for 64 runs.

At the end of the third day, 4 overs ago, Faf Du Plessis fell victim to Yasir Shah for 10 runs. For the national team, Yasir Shah took 4 wickets, Noman Ali and Hassan Ali took 1.1 wickets each. Earlier, Pakistan lost 4 wickets for 33 runs on the first day of the game, but thanks to a brilliant century by Fawad Alam, the national team managed to take the lead over South Africa in the first innings.

Azhar Ali lost the wicket for 51 runs, Faheem Ashraf was dismissed for 64 runs, Yasir Shah managed to score 38 runs. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada and Keshu Maharaj took 3.3 wickets each, while Lanki Nagidi and Enrich Norje took 2.2 wickets each. On the first day of the Karachi Test, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, and scored 220 runs. For Pakistan, Yasir Shah took 3 wickets while debutants Noman Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi took 2 wickets each.

Earlier South Africa visited Pakistan in 1997 and Pakistan lose the match to South Africa while chasing a total of 145. In the first inning, Pakistan bowled out the South Africa team for a total of 239 runs. Pakistan in the first inning makes 308 and takes the lead of 67 runs.

In the second inning, Pakistan bowled South Africa for 214 and got the target of 145. while chasing the target Pakistan team collapsed and Pakistan was all out for 92 runs and lose the match with 53 runs.
